Ontario Public Sector Salary Disclosure - Sunshine List 2017

The Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, 1996 makes Ontario’s public sector more open and accountable to taxpayers. The act requires organizations that receive public funding from the Province of Ontario to make public, by March 31 each year, the names, positions, salaries and total taxable benefits of employees paid $100,000 or more in the previous calendar year.

Topping the list for the Citizenship and Immigration was Deputy Minister Alexander Bezzina, who brought home $241,472.69 in 2016.

Following Alexander Bezzina was Assistant Deputy Minister, Citizenship and Immigration Division Cindy Lam, with annual earnings of $168,811.42. Chief Administrative Officer/Assistant Deputy Minister, Regional and Corporate Services Division Maureen Buckley made $158,453.87, Assistant Deputy Minister, Ontario Seniors' Secretariat Abigail Katz Starr made $155,157.98, and Assistant Deputy Minister, Syrian Refugee Resettlement Secretariat Melissa Thomson round out the top-five highest-paid employees with $154,050.79 for the Citizenship and Immigration 2017 Sunshine List.
